Required Documents

Bring a complete set per person. Requirements vary by consulate.

  1. Schengen application form (short term), filled and signed
  2. Recent photo: 3.5cm × 4.5cm (1"3/8 × 1"3/4), front, white background
  3. Passport (90 days beyond departure, <10 years, 2 empty visa pages) + copies
  4. US immigration documents (Alien Registration Card / visa except B1-B2, valid 90 days beyond; students: I-20 + enrollment + school ID)
  5. Proof of residence: driver's license/State ID, state income tax, lease, or 3 months utility bills
  6. Copies of previous Schengen visas (past 5 years)
  7. Round-trip flight reservations (+ flight/train between Schengen countries)
  8. Lodging (hotel bookings; or host declaration + host ID/Permesso)
  9. Bank statements: last 3 months of checking account(s) where paychecks are deposited (ALL US accounts)
  10. Income: employed (letter + 3 pay stubs); self-employed (incorporation + 1099 + business/personal statements + tax); retired (US pension only); dependents (spouse/parent's info + notarized affidavit)
  11. Schengen medical insurance covering the entire stay
  12. Visa fee: money order only
